As you step into Kuanzhai Alley, you’ll be greeted by a harmonious blend of traditional courtyard houses, wooden lattice windows, and upturned eaves, all of which showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient Chinese architecture. The crimson walls, grey tiles, and intricate carvings are like a living canvas that narrates the tales of bygone eras.

You’ll also notice the iconic “three squares and a screen wall” layout, reflecting the balance and symmetry revered in traditional Chinese architecture. This layout not only creates a sense of spatial depth but also symbolizes harmony and unity, echoing the philosophical principles of yin and yang.
