Day2 Shanghai->Suzhou
Your bespoke Shanghai-Suzhou-Hangzhou journey kicks off at the Shanghai Museum.As one of the most prestigious museums in China, the galleries overflow with ceremonial bronzes, luminous porcelain, carved jade, ink-brush masterpieces, and even ethnic-minority garments and Qing-Ming dynasty furniture.
Next, weave through the old-city lanes to the 16th-century Yuyuan Garden. Here zig-zag bridges, dragon-ribbed walls and pocket-sized pavilions reveal the soft elegance of Jiangnan landscaping, while your guide decodes the art of Chinese rock appreciation—most notably the “Exquisite Jade” limestone, a naturally weathered sculpture celebrated as one of South China’s top three ornamental stones.
After the garden interlude you’ll have free moments to drift along the adjoining bazaar, sampling street snacks or hunting for handicrafts among the red-lanterned lanes.In the afternoon, we will head to the Bund district to embark on a one-hour Huangpu River cruise, admiring the distinct iconic landscapes along both banks. To the west, 52 colonial-era buildings in diverse Western architectural styles come into view, showcasing a blend of European influences; to the east, modern skyscrapers like the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, and Shanghai Tower rise majestically, creating a breathtaking skyline that bridges history and modernity. After disembarking, enjoy free time to wander along the Bund and capture picturesque moments—where classical architecture meets neon lights, and rippling river waves reflect city glitter. Next, explore Tianzifang—a cultural quarter blending boutiques, art studios, and cafes, where traditional Shanghai Shikumen charm meets contemporary creativity. This area traces its roots back to the 1920s Shikumen residential quarters, now transformed into a vibrant hub of cultural innovation.
As dusk descends, we'll journey by car to Suzhou. Upon arrival, after settling into the hotel, we'll embark on a culinary exploration of authentic Suzhou cuisine—think sweet-and-sour mandarin fish and Biluochun tea-infused shrimp, embodying the Jiangnan philosophy through local specialties.
Meals included: Breakfast
Note: As the Shanghai Museum is closed to public on Mondays, a visit to the Shanghai History Museum is arranged as an alternative.(Accommodation: Suzhou)
Day3 Suzhou->Hangzhou
At dawn, after breakfast at the hotel, we'll set out to explore the ancient water town of Tongli. Picture this: winding stone-paved paths between weathered ancient houses, wooden boats gently swaying on emerald canals, and stone arch bridges spanning the waterways—all alive with the vibrant rhythm of daily life. Tongli's history dates back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and it still preserves the quintessential water-town charm where "houses nestle by the river and bridges dot the water."
The highlight of today's journey is the Humble Administrator's Garden in northeastern Suzhou. Like Shanghai's Yuyuan Garden, it is a Ming Dynasty cultural treasure, but twice its size. While both gardens exemplify Jiangnan style, the Humble Administrator's Garden retains more authentic Ming Dynasty architectural features: centered around water landscapes, visitors can stroll along covered walkways connecting pavilions and enjoy exquisite views through carved window frames.
After dinner, we'll drive to Hangzhou and check into a local hotel, preparing for tomorrow's exploration of the legendary West Lake scenery.

Day4 Hangzhou
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll lead you to West Lake. To savor the lake-and-mountain vistas celebrated in classical Chinese poetry, a boat cruise is unparalleled—this is precisely the experience we've arranged. Gliding on the emerald waters, you'll leisurely take in the panoramic beauty and countless historical relics dotting the shoreline. A short walk from the dock brings us to Red Carp Pond, one of West Lake's most enchanting spots. Here, schools of red carp dart beneath the surface while mandarin ducks glide overhead. Should you visit during the season when nature's palette is most vibrant, the scene becomes truly sublime.
By afternoon, we arrive at Lingyin Temple, ranked among China's top ten Buddhist sanctuaries. Join locals in heartfelt prayer—locals believe the deities here truly heed human pleas for blessings! Before the temple, rises Feilai Peak, which our guide will explore with you. The cliff face boasts over 400 moss-draped Buddha carvings, their timeless expressions frozen in stone, creating a breathtaking tableau of ancient craftsmanship.
