Si-gu-niang Mt.
The Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area is located in Siguniang Mountain Town, Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It belongs to the Qionglai Mountains of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and is 220 kilometers away from Chengdu. Mount Siguniang is adjacent to the Wolong National Nature Reserve. The core attractions of the Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area are Shuangqiao Gully, Changping Gully, Haizi Gully, Yaoguniang Mountain (Yaomei Peak), Sanguniang Mountain, Erguniang Mountain, and Dagiang Mountain. Mount Siguniang is steep and has developed modern glaciers. There are 85 snow peaks with an altitude of over 5000 meters, which are covered in snow all year round and have developed modern mountain glaciers. The main peak of Mount Siguniang, with an elevation of 6250 meters, is the highest peak in the Qionglai Mountains, the second highest peak in Sichuan, and the third highest peak in the Hengduan Mountains. [2] Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area is a world natural heritage, a national scenic spot, a national geological park, a national nature reserve, a world heritage of the Habitat of Giant Pandas in Sichuan Province, and one of the top ten famous mountain climbers in China. National 5A level tourist attraction.
Chang-ping Valley
Changping Valley stretches for 29km, covering an area of about 100m2, with 21 sightseeing points scattered along this green gallery. There are plentiful primitive plant species in the valley, and the vegetation is well preserved. In addition to the beautiful scenery, this place is also known for miraculous legends about Mt. Siguniang and the ethnic customs of rGyalrong Tibetan formed over the past millennia. In the primitive forest stand tall cypresses, flourishing pines, dense cedars and willows, shading the sky. Looking up, the sun shines through the crowns, pouring rays of sunlight down to the ground. Changping Valley is also a paradise for outdoor adventurers, as it is an important campsite for climbing the Third Peak and Fourth Peak, as well as an ideal place for rock and ice climbing. Starting from here, tourists can also trek to Bipeng Valley in Lixian County.
Shuang-qiao Valley
The altitude of the valley from the peak to the parking lot at the foot is 3,840m. This spot is named for two bridges constructed by local people for crossing the valley. One is set up using willow wood, called Yangliu Bridge and the other uses the red wood, called Bianqiao Bridge. This place features numerous peaks and gullies. Sightseeing buses travel through the valley to allow you to visit the whole gallery in a faster and more comfortable way. Shuangqiao Valley covers a total length of 34.8km, with 17 sightseeing points and 54 scenic spots initially explored. Inside the valley, the Yinyang Valley is accompanied by steep mountains and sinuous paths, forming a hidden but beautiful spot. Riyuebaojing Mount, Wuse Mount, Jianzi Mount, Lieren Peak, Yingzui Rock, Renshenguo Field, Nianyu Dam, Penjing Flat, Redwood Glacier, and other views are distributed in clusters, making visitors reluctant to leave. Haizi Valley
Haizi Valley
As an important part of Mt. Siguniang, Haizi Valley stretches for a total length of 19.2km and covers an area of 126.48km2. Located in Rilong Town, views of this valley are distinctive from those of Shuangqiao Valley and Changping Valley. The first half is mainly alpine meadow, making it the best place for tourists to appreciate Mt. Siguniang and for amateur photographers to take pictures of this gorgeous mount. The second half is a long stretch of alpine lakes, which may take visitors a whole day for sightseeing. Currently, 12 sightseeing points and 46 scenic spots have been initially explored. The valley is dotted with more than a dozen alpine lakes, such as Flower Lake, Floating Lake and Blue Lake. Water flows through Wori River into pellucid, deep and quiet Dadu River in Dunbar, reflecting the green mountains and blue sky. Many ancient precious scaleless fish are retained here and become the living fossils for people to comprehend this land. Haizi Valley is also a good place to camp and the only path to get to each peak. Departing from here, climbers can reach No.1 Camp and the Base Camp from Haizi Valley by walking or riding a horse, then head to the large peak, the second peak, the third peak and the main peak. With the longing for this mysterious place and after hours or even days of trekking, one will eventually reach the lakes with the mountains behind themselves. Then you can enjoy the beauty of the scenery, watch the alpine ducks flying over the water, listen to the birds chirping in the mountains, and soak yourself in meditation and excitement.
10-km Poplar forest
The Ten-kilometer Aspen Forest is just located in the open area after the entry to the valley. The valley and mountains separate the two villages, leaving the mountain area with numerous species of animals and plants. Mt. Siguniang is covered by luxuriant vegetation. The vegetation in Shuangqiao Valley is divided into three forest belts due to the variation in altitude: The first ten kilometers is mainly a mixed forest belt of broad-leaved and miscellaneous trees, mainly the poplar forest; the middle section is wondrous hippophae rhamnoides; and the last section is a mixed coniferous forest belt, mainly the larix mastersiana.
